A step in the right direction
Glad to hear about this new feature at our railway station.
India has a huge population of physically challenged people.
But we have made very less efforts so far to make most common places accessible for them.
Hope people use these in right ways and this becomes available in all other places.
When some one builds a commercial or public building, just like electricity and plumbing it should be made accessible for all the physically challenged people just like United States.
It should become part of building code.
Yes, I saw it in the paper
Yes, I saw it in the paper too. I think a similar service has been available at Central Station for a while now. Once, when I had gone to see off a relative, I found it being used to rush an old lady for medical assistance - she had been on the train, but had suddenly developed some complications. I didn't much like the way she was being transported as she was lying in a rather precarious position, but at least she could be moved quickly.
It's good to see public utilities like the Railways beginning to pay more attention to the needs of the physically challenged and the aged.
Venkatesh
