A management professional with a specialisation in Finance, Sowmya Simhan works for Chettinad Cement, a well-known cement manufacturer based in Chennai. Sowmya has over a decade of involvement in social work. From 1997, she has been a member of the Lions Club and participated extensively in the Club’s community service activities.

Furthermore, since 1999, Sowmya has been a trustee of Maithri Educational and Charitable Trust, a Chennai-based service organisation supporting the education of underprivileged children. Physically challenged, Sowmya established Sukriti Social Foundation in 2006. In addition to leading Sukriti, Sowmya is a resource person and speaker on various issues in disability.

Mrs. RajalakshmiRAJALAKSHMI RAMAKRISHNAN, Trustee
A philanthropist and active member of the Lions Movement in Chennai, Rajalakshmi Ramakrishnan is associated with many voluntary organisations working in the areas of care for the aged and disability.

She is a graduate in Sanskrit and an exponent of the Veena, she is a voracious reader with a deep interest in Indian philosophy.

Mr. Gunasingh works with Chettinad Cement and has been involved with Sukriti Social Foundation since its inception. He provides invaluable support – right from taking interest in ongoing activities to suggesting new activities to mobilising support Sukriti’s activities.
